Back in the saddle
by Randy on Feb.27, 2010, under Welcome
Well, I’ve move my web hosting to a new company and changed my blog from b2evolution to wordpress. Hopefully over the next couple of days weeks or so I will be able to start posting a few random things here. I’m also going to try to find a better theme and some extra stuff just to keep it interesting. I”m guessing I broke anyone that happen to use an RSS read to follow this, sorry about that. For that fact, I probably broke any links from a search engine as well. If that’s how you got here: fear not, the information you look for is buried somewhere on this site.
Stay tuned for more….
Back to Biking
by Randy on Apr.28, 2009, under Biking
I’ve actually been doing some biking so far this year, I just haven’t written anything about it. Nothing special really, just short trips here and there trying to get back into shape so when it’s nicer out I can talk longer trips and get ready for RAGRAI and the Pedal The Plains MS 150, both coming up in July. Tonight I went into Nebraska and then back. I wanted to get to Maskell, but didn’t quite get there. I actually got pretty cold and then felt a few drops of rain so I decided to turn around with hopes of still getting my lawn mowed tonight.
But, that’s all I got, nothing too interesting. I’m sure I’ll have much, much more interesting biking stories as the year rolls on.
Awesome Video/Site
by Randy on Apr.28, 2009, under Music, On the web
As I was looking through my blogs on google reader today, I saw a video posted by Gizmodo (embedded below). It was really an awesome video and shows off some of the cool things you can do and some of the really awesome people out there in the world. It came from a site called Playing for Change. It’s a little slow today (I’m guessing thanks to Gizmodo), but check it out if you get a chance. There are several more on the website. Make sure to check out the introduction to learn more about the site.
Left behind in a foreclosure
by Randy on Mar.03, 2009, under In real life, News, On the web
A video posted by the Consumerist is very saddening. It brings up two things for me. First, I just don’t understand the state of mind of some of the people going through foreclosure. As you watch the video you see nice stuff like TVs, computers, and furniture that the people could have sold to at least get them some cash fast. Not to mention the personal items they have found behind.
I also think it’s sad when John Plocher talks about how he has tried and tried to donate the stuff, but has nothing but problems. You think someone could work with them, get the stuff, and give it away or sell it.
I also really question if stuff like this says something about how many people today don’t respect the stuff they have. Whatever the reason, it’s a sad one. Personally I’ve worked hard for the stuff I have and I can’t imagine just trashing my stuff and leaving it all behind. The last house they show, that’s maybe 5 or 10 years old and it just trashed makes you think the people that lived there never really cared. I know I’m assuming a lot and I don’t know, but you have to wonder why people would neglect their house so much.
I’m not sure if this ever made TV….
